Common questions
How do I set up payments for my studio?
From your Inkfillers dashboard we walk you through creating a Stripe account — you enter your business details, bank information, and any legal documents Stripe needs for KYC and compliance, all submitted directly to Stripe's secure onboarding flow without leaving the Inkfillers site. You don't need a pre-existing Stripe account; we create it for you as part of the setup. Most studios are ready to accept their first payment within 15 minutes.
How much are the transaction fees?
A combined rate of 1,9% + 0,25 € per transaction covers Stripe's processing fee and the Inkfillers 0,40% platform fee. The same rate applies to every payment method routed through Stripe — Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and MobilePay — whether the payment is taken online or in person. Non-EU cards may be charged slightly more by Stripe.
When do I receive my money?
Stripe pays out to your bank account on a rolling schedule — typically 2-7 business days after each transaction, depending on your country and Stripe account settings. You can track every payout and transaction in the Inkfillers dashboard.
Can I collect deposits for bookings?
Yes. You can require a deposit at booking — either a fixed amount or a percentage of the total. The deposit is collected automatically during the booking flow and is applied to the remainder when the customer pays the rest at the studio.
Is my customers' payment information secure?
Yes. Every payment is processed by Stripe, which is PCI DSS Level 1 certified — the highest level in the payments industry. Card details never touch Inkfillers servers; they are sent directly to Stripe's secure infrastructure. In-person payments via card readers and Tap to Pay use the same secure Stripe Terminal path.
Do I need special hardware for Tap to Pay?
No. Just an iPhone XS or later running iOS 16.4+, or an Android device running Android 9+ with NFC. The Inkfillers Studio app does the rest.
What card readers do you support?
We support the Stripe Reader S700, BBPOS WisePOS E, and BBPOS WisePad 3. They can be ordered directly from Stripe and paired to your studio in minutes.
Are in-person fees the same as online?
Yes. The Inkfillers platform fee is identical — 0.40% — plus Stripe's standard in-person processing rate. No hidden charges at the counter.
Can I use my phone as a card reader?
Yes. With Tap to Pay on iPhone or Android, your phone becomes a contactless card reader directly inside the Inkfillers Studio app. No dongles, no extra hardware.
